How much are tickets?
Tickets are $100 each. Buy 10 tickets and you get one additional ticket FREE.
Is there a limit to how many tickets a person can buy?
No
When is the last day to buy tickets?
Saturday, September 19th at noon.
Can I buy tickets as a gift for someone else?
Absolutely, that would be a lovely gift.
Can I buy tickets online or only in person?
Both. You can purchase tickets online and in stores in our local community.
What exactly is the building?
A 40’ x 60’ garage/shop building. If the winner would rather choose a smaller building, that will also be accepted.
Who builds the building and how long does it take?
One of our local structure-builders. Timeline details will be coordinated directly with the winner.
Can I choose cash even if I live within 30 miles?
Yes. The choice is yours if you live in a 30 mile radius of Winesburg.
What if I live more than 30 miles away?
Due to the difficulty of constructing a building at a distance, we are limiting the available placement radius to 30 miles from Winesburg. A winner outside that radius will have the choice of placing a building within that radius or receiving $30,000 in cash.
Are prizes taxable? Am I responsible for the taxes?
Yes. The winner is responsible for any applicable taxes on the prize.
When and where is the drawing?
A 40’ x 60’ garage/shop building. If the winner would rather choose a smaller building, that will also be accepted.
Do I need to be present to win?
No, but it’s worth being there — the drawing takes place during the Winesburg Fall Gathering, and it’s a day worth showing up for.
How will the winner be notified?
If the winner is not present at the drawing, we will contact them through the means of communication provided on the ticket.
Where does the money go?
The mission of the Winesburg Business Association is to support and help our local community and families — whether it’s people that have experienced loss, unforeseen hardship, medical problems, financial difficulties, or other challenges. Our goal is to alleviate and support our community during those times. All proceeds go directly to families in need.
How are families selected to receive support?
We receive notes and suggestions from community members.
Does the building come with a foundation or concrete slab?
Yes. The building includes a foundation along with multiple other important additions.
Do I need to own the lot already?
No, but you will need to acquire the land needed as well as the needed building permit so the builder can break ground before May 1st, 2027. If that isn’t possible, you will be offered the cash prize instead.
Does my lot need to meet any requirements?
It must meet the requirements of the builder as well as obtain a building permit if needed.
